Who founded the company?

The Submersibles was co-founded by Ying Kai, Esther, and Geer How.

Their shared passion for diving and marine conservation inspired them to create The Submersibles as a hub for the diving community.

  • Ying Kai: PADI Master Instructor with over 650 certifications.

  • Esther: PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer with over 500 certifications and a certified yoga teacher.

  • Geer How: PADI Master Instructor with over 300 certifications and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering.

About the Staff and Instructors

Who are the key members of your team?

We call our team the "S.Crew." They hold various PADI certifications, from Divemaster to Instructor, and all share a deep passion for diving.

What are the qualifications or certifications of your instructors?

Our instructors are PADI-certified, holding certifications including PADI Master Instructor (MI), PADI IDC Staff Instructor (IDCS), PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT), and PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI).

Specialised expertise includes swim instruction (Ying Kai is a PADI Swim School Instructor Trainer), and freediving (Daniel is a freediving instructor and holder of 12 Freediving National Records).

Do your instructors or staff have specialised skills?

Yes, our team includes specialists in marine conservation, marine biology, underwater photography, freediving, and swimming instruction.

Are your staff trained in first aid and emergency response?

Absolutely! All our instructors are Emergency First Response (EFR) instructors, certified to teach CPR, First Aid, and AED use. Ying Kai is also an EFR Instructor Trainer (i.e., can teach and certify EFR Instructors).

How does your team prioritise customer service and satisfaction?

We prioritise customer satisfaction through personalised instruction, prompt communication, and a student-centric approach to every course and service.

Can I choose a specific instructor or staff member for my course/session?

Yes, you can request a specific instructor, subject to their availability.

Do your staff speak languages other than English?

Yes, some of our team members speak Chinese and Danish.

What is the instructor-to-student ratio for courses or sessions?

For all in-water sessions, we maintain a maximum ratio of 4 students per instructor to ensure safety and personalised attention.
