You can also rent or purchase dive equipment from us; see the list of products at our web store.

Do trips include flights?

Our dive travellers could be flying from anywhere in the world, and it is not feasible for us to have competitive flight prices or accommodate every schedule and location. Therefore, we do not include flights in our travel packages.

However, many of our packages include airport transfers once you land at your dive destination. Please refer to the details of "What's Included" and "What's Not Included" on each trip for specific information.

Can I bring non-diving companions?

Yes, non-divers are welcome to join dive trips to enjoy activities like snorkelling, sightseeing, or simply relaxing. Non-divers typically pay a lower rate. For specific pricing and options, please contact us at The Submersibles or explore our trips.

Can I bring children with me on my dive tour?

Yes, most resorts offer non-diver packages, and children are welcome on many dive tours. Many resorts cater to families and provide activities and facilities for children, such as kids’ clubs, snorkelling adventures, or shallow water activities.

However, each resort is unique in its offerings, so it’s best to check with us beforehand. We can provide specific recommendations based on your destination and ensure the resort is child-friendly to make your family’s experience enjoyable.

How far in advance should I book my dive trip?

Booking your dive adventure well in advance is highly recommended to secure your spot, especially for liveaboard (LOB) tours with limited availability. We suggest reserving your spot several months ahead:

  • Land-based trips: 4-8 months in advance.
  • LOB or limited availability trips: 12+ months in advance.

This ensures you have ample time to prepare and guarantees availability for your chosen destination.

Is travel insurance necessary for dive trips?

Yes, we highly recommend getting travel insurance for your dive trips. It provides peace of mind by covering unexpected situations like medical emergencies, trip cancellations, or equipment loss.

For comprehensive coverage tailored to divers, we recommend DAN Insurance, which offers options for both Dive and Travel components. Learn more and sign up here.

Planning for the unexpected means you can fully enjoy your diving adventure with confidence!

What is a liveaboard trip, and how does it differ from land-based dive trips?

A liveaboard (also commonly referred to as a live on board, or LOB) is a dive-focused boat trip where you live on a boat and dive multiple times a day, often accessing remote and pristine dive sites.

This offers the advantage of reaching locations that may be difficult to access from land, a great way to access remote dive sites usually teeming with diverse marine life. LOBs often provide a more immersive diving experience.

In contrast, land-based trips have you staying at a resort or hotel, traveling to dive sites daily, and may offer more flexibility for other activities.

How can I choose the right dive destination?

Choosing the perfect dive destination depends on your experience level, marine life interests, and the season for ideal conditions. Do you prefer calm, beginner-friendly sites or thrilling dives with strong currents? Are you enchanted by tiny macro critters or awestruck by large pelagic creatures? Looking for vibrant coral gardens or spectacular schools of fish?

Our dive travel experts at Adventours Travel are here to help you select the perfect destination. Whether you're a novice or a seasoned diver, we’ll tailor recommendations to suit your preferences. Here are some exciting options:

a. Raja Ampat, Indonesia
Dive into the world’s richest marine ecosystem! Raja Ampat boasts over 1,500 species of fish, stunning hard and soft corals, and regular sightings of graceful manta rays and elusive pygmy seahorses. Recommended window October to April: calm seas and excellent visibility make this the ideal time to explore. During these months, you might encounter seasonal visitors like juvenile reef sharks and wobbegong sharks in addition to the region’s breath-taking biodiversity.

b. Sipadan, Malaysia
Famous for its pristine reefs and untouched marine habitats, Sipadan is a diver’s paradise. Imagine swimming alongside majestic sea turtles, spiralling schools of barracuda, and reef sharks. The site also offers thrilling macro life like nudibranchs and shrimp. April to December is the best time to visit, with warm waters and vibrant activity. In the later months, watch for larger pelagic visitors such as manta rays and eagle rays making their seasonal appearances.

c. Komodo, Indonesia
Adventure awaits in Komodo, where strong currents bring nutrient-rich waters teeming with life. Glide with graceful manta rays, marvel at vibrant coral gardens, or uncover tiny critters like frogfish and ghost pipefish. Between dives, set foot on Komodo Island to encounter the legendary Komodo dragons! Plan your trip from April to December for calmer seas and clearer visibility. During peak manta ray season (December to February), these gentle giants gather in larger numbers near cleaning stations.

d. Maldives
Step into a dreamscape of turquoise lagoons and crystal-clear waters. The Maldives is a haven for divers seeking close encounters with whale sharks, manta rays, and kaleidoscopic coral reefs. From November to April, the dry season offers tranquil conditions and extraordinary visibility. While manta rays are seen year-round, December to April is the best time to spot them at cleaning stations; while May to November often sees increased plankton blooms, drawing in hungry whale sharks and other pelagic species.

Each destination promises unforgettable experiences, but the best part is exploring them with The Submersibles. What is the 24-hour no-fly rule after diving?

Divers are advised to wait at least 18-24 hours after their last dive before flying to reduce the risk of decompression sickness. This precaution allows excess nitrogen absorbed during dives to safely dissipate from your body. You'll learn more about this in the PADI Open Water Diver (OWD) Course.
