When can I start these advanced-level courses?

You can start these courses after completing the PADI Open Water Diver (OWD) course or hold an equivalent certification. This means you need to be at least 10 years old and have the basic knowledge and experience of scuba diving before you can begin.

Are medical checks required before starting a course?

You need to complete a PADI Medical Questionnaire. If you answer “yes” to any medical conditions, a doctor’s approval is required before commencing with the in-water portion of the diving course.

Do I need diving insurance for courses with The Submersibles?

Diving insurance is not a mandatory requirement for enrolling in courses with The Submersibles.

However, we prioritise your safety and peace of mind during all courses, which is why PADI Insurance covers every student and crew member during course activities with The Submersibles. This coverage ensures that you are protected in case of any unforeseen emergencies while you’re diving with us.

Although PADI Insurance is included during the course, we recommend that you consider obtaining additional personal dive insurance if you plan to dive outside of course activities or for travel purposes.

The PADI AOWD course includes five adventure dives, including mandatory deep and navigation dives, plus three elective dives like wreck or night diving.

What equipment is provided in the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (AOWD) course?

You will be provided with all necessary diving equipment, including mask, snorkel, fins, BCD (buoyancy control device), regulator, dive computer, tanks and weights.

We do not provide exposure suits (e.g., wetsuits) or swimsuits for hygiene and personal comfort. Moreover, using your own personal gear ensures a better fit, allowing you to fully enjoy your learning experience. You only need to bring your personal items like swimwear, an exposure suit, a towel, and reef-safe sunscreen.

Can I continue diving after completing the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (AOWD) course?

Absolutely! Once you have completed the PADI AOWD course, you will be certified to dive to a maximum depth of 30 meters.

You can continue diving worldwide, exploring more dive sites, or even pursue specialty certifications like wreck diving, underwater photography, or rescue diving.
